Dr. Pantelis Monogioudis is a Professor of the Practice in the Computer Science department at NJIT.
Education: PhD in electrical engineering from the University of Surrey, United Kingdom.
Professional Background: A recognized industry leader with more than twenty years of experience in leading research and development teams. Started his career working in wireless communications / information theory and was instrumental in the definition of 3G and 4G technologies. More recently, he focused on self-organizing networks and machine learning for LTE and emerging 5G mmwave network optimization. Currently, he is the head of Applied Machine Learning Research at Bell Laboratories, working in the space of real-time video scene understanding via neuro-symbolic reasoning at the network edge. Pantelis has been a voting member in the technical advisory board of the Linux Foundation on Artificial Intelligence. He is the recipient of two Bell Labs President’s awards and author of tens of patents and publications.
