1. What tuition rate will I be charged for a class at the Jersey City location?
The current list of tuition and fees is available online and is subject to change each academic year. Please note that your billing may be adjusted up until the end of the semester's add/drop period.
All specific questions regarding tuition and fees are handled by the Office of the Bursar by e-mailing bursar@njit.edu or calling 973-596-2877.
2. What tuition rate are Jersey City Cohort students billed for classes?
Only students who are admitted to NJIT as Jersey City Cohort students will be billed at the Jersey City rate for any class(es) taken at the Jersey City location. Please see the “Jersey City (per semester)” table on the Tuition and Fee Schedule page.
Jersey City Cohort students can enroll in face-to-face Newark or Online Newark class(es) and will be billed for them at the appropriate in-state or out-of-state tuition rate based on your residency status with NJIT.
3. What tuition rate are students in Newark-based programs billed for classes at Jersey City?
Students who were admitted to a Newark-based program will be billed their usual Newark campus rate for any class(es) taken at the Jersey City location.
International students attending NJIT on a F1 visa may only enroll in one (1) course per semester at NJIT's Jersey City location.
4. Can students in a fully-online graduate program take classes at Jersey City?
Delivery of instruction for all classes at the Jersey City location is face-to-face. Students admitted into a fully online degree program may not be eligible for e-Tuition rates if enrolled in a face-to-face course. Please contact the Office of Online Programs with any questions.
5. How do I know if I am in the Jersey City Cohort?
When you log into your Degree Works portal, your degree program and student information appears at the top of your worksheet. This section will include a “Cohort: Jersey City” field that is only visible to Jersey City Cohort students.
