About Me: Dr. Xinyue Ye is an Associate Professor in the Informatics department at NJIT where he directs the Urban Informatics and Spatial Computing Lab.
Education: He received a PhD in geographic information science at the University of California at Santa Barbara, where his PhD thesis won the NSF DDRI award and subsequently was a faculty member at Kent State University.
Professional Background: Xinyue integrates urban science and computational science towards information visualization, urban informatics and spatial social network analysis in various domains, such as economic development, disaster response, transportation, land use, public health, and urban crime. His work is funded by NSF, DoT, NIJ, DoC, DoE, and NIH. At NJIT, Xinyue teaches courses on web systems development, data analytics and spatio-temporal urban analytics.
